Once granted, a European Patent is to be validated in Italy by filing a validation application before any Chamber of Commerce or the U.I.B.M. (Ufficio Italiano Brevetti e Marchi, Italian patent and trademark Office) within 3 months from the date on which the granting is mentioned into the European Bulletin, together with a complete translation thereof into Italian (Italy is not part of the London Agreement). In case of belated validation, Re-establishing of rights is possible.
Once duly validated, the Italian portion of the European Patent is to be considered as an Italian patent of invention.
